Island Lake Camp traces its beginnings back to 1946, when founder Harry Morel recognized the shoreline of Island Lake as the perfect setting for a traditional Northern Ontario tourist camp.

Drawn by its quiet beauty and natural abundance, Morel established the camp with a clear vision: a welcoming retreat where visitors could experience exceptional fishing, rewarding hunting, and the rugged charm of the Canadian wilderness.

In those early years, days were defined by trophy catches, wildlife-filled forests, and the simple pleasure of life at the lake—setting the foundation for a camp legacy that continues to this day.
